Company Profile

Industrial Safety Training and Compliance, LLC is an occupational safety training and consulting firm that specializes in assisting small- to medium-sized employers in Arizona to better understand and comply with OSHA and other regulatory safety standards.

Established in 2005, i-STAC's primary focus and specialty was to provide professional level Powered Mobile Equipment training for operators and trainers of forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts to comply with OSHA training requirements. Our success and acceptance in that specialized topic and format led to our customers asking us to expand our course offerings into other OSHA training topics and requirements.

In 2006, we expanded our training services to include the OSHA Safety Outreach Programs for General Industry and Construction Industry employers and their employees. We offer both the 10- and 30-hour formats plus expanded training in specific hazard topics for Supervisors, Competent Persons and Business Owners.

In 2007, we started offering consulting services to include Job Hazard Analysis, Worksite Inspection, Employee Coaching, Company Safety Policy, and Safety Manual development services.

As 2008 began we realized the majority of our customers were the small to medium sized companies in the Greater Yuma area. The explosive growth in Construction, Warehousing & Distribution and Manufacturing sectors has left Yuma employers scrambling to rebuild and improve their safety programs to keep pace with this rapid growth.

To meet this demand for safety training that is local, regularly scheduled and affordable we developed WorkSafeAZ and the Yuma Safety Center. This exciting program tracks OSHA inspection and citation trends, occupational injury and fatality reports, surveys local safety councils, trade associations, Chamber of Commerce, Building Code Compliance and many other sources to indentify exactly what Safety Training and Safety Services will most benefit each community. We then tailor our course offerings to help employers reverse these negative safety trends. We are confident this program will not just help our customers become safer employers but more profitable companies by reducing workman's compensation and general liability insurance cost.

Manufacturing and Safety Employment History

Chris H. Williams has been actively involved in and promoting occupational safety since 1975. He started his safety career in the U.S. Air Force as a Quality Control / Safety Compliance Inspector and member of a regional aircraft incident investigation team. In 1981 he became a plant safety supervisor for a Fortune 500 manufacturer, went on to build his own industrial manufacturing company, and then returned as a Plant Manager for a national construction products manufacturer.

His continued interest and involvement in occupational safety led to him offering safety training and consulting services to business colleagues, customers, and other interested parties on a part-time basis. This endeavor led to the formation of Industrial Safety Training and Compliance, LLC.

Professional Certifications

Chris has continued to expand his professional development by obtaining his designation as an OSHA Authorized Trainer for both the General and Construction Industries. He has also obtained certification as a Certified Master Instructor for Powered Mobile Equipment and is a Certified Safety Manager and Trainer by the International / National Association of Safety Professionals.

Community Service

Both Chris and his company participate in several Safety Councils, Trade Organizations, Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development, and Workforce Development organizations and other civic programs to provide safety training and consulting services at no cost as a civic contribution to the communities they serve.
